Posting early so as to dissuade everything op was attempting to accomplish:

We are able to pay for things fine. You can get a shit ton of fresh organic produce, chicken, breads and regular snacks too even on a tight budget. Hell, I can get my weekly shopping in and still buy a bar of fancy pants dark choco. I think the guy was right talking about minorities. Junk food is cheap as heck but they are always the ones on EBT with carts full of soda and "value pack peanut butter product"

"Low pay is correlated with being female, working part-time, aged 20-29 years or over 65 years, holding low level of educational attainment, and being non-European." Charles Waldegrave, a tireless chronicler of poverty, says a study into the working poor will more than affirm what's known. "We've got the statistics for them. What the Government is worried about is what's happening to these people."

The degradation of the traditional family model is to blame for this. And niggers.

it's honestly bewildering that this is possible in the united states. the Free Market is left unchecked so that people can start businesses to get other people what they need and are therefore willing to pay for -- why are there no grocers in the ghetto nor in small towns and suburbs served by strip malls? here in montreal, even deppaneurs, the equivalent to a bodega, often have at least cereals, bread, eggs, and dairy products like milk and cheese, albeit often overpriced.

Tons of sugar and more "starchy" like potatoes than other fruit.
They have fewer good nutrients for the calories and you should do better. Bananas and potatoes are homeless poverty tier and real people shouldn't be eating starchy carbs like that.

>>10616232
>here in montreal, even deppaneurs, the equivalent to a bodega, often have at least cereals, bread, eggs
We have those too, in ghettos and stuff they are usually mexican markets. Their products are twice the price of the normal store and some people have to buy them anyway because they don't have any transportation to the regular grocery store. Imagine trying to take home a week's shopping for 4 kids on the fucking bus.

>then how do liquor stores, check-cashing places, and gas stations manage to exist
They have bulletproof glass and are much, much, much smaller than grocery stores, so it's easier for a small staff to keep an eye on everything. You could have a grocery store where literally everything is behind glass and an employee has to reach your eggs, milk, etc for you, except you couldn't because that's impractical. Grocery stores are not just driven out by product theft but also by a lack of regular employees and non-theft crime, like destroyed property or employee assault, to which the company must respond with settlements.

I think niggers cause these conditions for themselves but unfortunately all people in a ghetto aren't just niggers, and some innocent people get affected.

One thing is the cheapest phone with Android on it bought outright so you can receive SMS, calls, and can install whatever chat app your coworkers use, alongside an economical SIM-only plan. That, today, is about the same as having a landline 30 years ago; you can do without but it's gonna be tough.

It's another thing to buy the newest flagship phone which is nearly $1000, on a 2 year contract with """unlimited""" data, and then upgrading to the next one as soon as it comes out because you "don't want to look like a loser/poor". All so you can physically humble-brag, play Angry Birds in Ultra settings on the toilet, and take ultra-crisp foodie photos and selfies for Instagram. If it makes you happy, then go for it, but to me it seems like the stupidest thing.

I have a midrange phone and upgrade whenever it starts getting bogged down by system updates, but LineageOS is pretty good at countering that. Even if I had the money I wouldn't buy a flagship, there's so many other things I'd rather waste my cash on.

This. You have to work to qualify for any sort of assistance unless you are also taking in disability benefits. As a poorfag, it helps so much. You know, my EBT comes out to just a little bit less than what I pay monthly in income taxes. So, I guess getting rid of income taxes for people who make less than 20k a year would also help lower everyone else's taxes significantly while getting people out of the system. But, you know, both parties here are on the same team and they like how the revenue lines their pockets.

Yeah, it's cheaper until you have to restock everything in a week for the same price. We get fat for a variety of reasons. I think it's GMOs and added hormones. despite being a high income area, there's still a need for the working class, low-wage population to fill labor jobs etc around the city. these are the people that are getting fucked, they have to pay insane rent to stay in an area like this ($1,000/month is the minimum around here for a 1 bedroom apartment, good luck living here on minimum wage (7.25)). it's not as simple as "if ur poor move to a poor place" either, considering many of these people were born and raised here and cannot afford to leave, as the low income and high prices leave little room for savings. if you live in someplace like bumfuck nowhere, Utah, your opinion on the matter is really very irrelevant considering everything is dirt cheap around your little sister-fucking communes because nobody wants to live there. the price of living in cities, ie the places where the majority of the country lives, is rising yet wages are not.

Either way numbers wise that means more Blacks are on wellfare and the narrative to assume mostly whites is spun in the media. Fucking I still remember that study that said you couldn't afford a home on minimum wage where it turns out "can't afford" meant "you have to spend more than 30% of your income on rent" and they used average home prices instead of cheap home prices, which is where minimum wage earners would live. Yeah no shit you can't afford the average home unless you're making the average amount of money.

Poverty-tier Mexican migrants manage to move across the Arizona desert on their fucking legs to get to work in the US, so I think what you *meant* to say is, they would rather continue their current level of comfort than seek better life elsewhere.

>>10627797
>that and not to mention the fact that if all the poor people in a city just upped and moved you'd be out of a workforce

If they all teleported out on one day, sure. If they all started moving over, let's say, a year, it would slowly become harder and harder to get help so you'd have to pay the remaining people more and more money if you want to be sure you're one of the few who still get help. It's a beautiful system that works wonders everywhere it's implemented.

It's not about continuing their current level of comfort, it's about the risk associated with doing something like that. You're not guaranteed to succeed anywhere, and poor people are often poor because they're not smart enough to succeed in the first place. If it was as simple as "all i have to do to not live in poverty is move to Utah!?" I'm sure a lot more people would be growing potatoes and fucking their sisters right now.
Leaving behind everything to trek across a desert in search of a better life is a lot easier when you have absolutely nothing to leave behind in the first place. It's different when you have to take an actual risk, almost-nothing and a job is still significantly more than literally-nothing and no job. I don't think it's realistic to expect everyone living in poverty to do something like that.

Our gap between the bottom of the barrel worker and the people who essentially have no problems other than what they cause themselves financially has gotten far broader since the 1980s. People who get stuck in the cycle of working low pay jobs pretty much can never get out, and there's a strong disincentive to just do nothing and live off of welfare.

I used to live a few blocks from a ghetto wal mart. I think it's since been bulldozed and hopefully the ruins were doused in fuel oil and set on fire.

I have seen people steal EVERYTHING. It got so bad that they literally had four city cops and two Crown Vics parked blocking the two entrance doors. By everything, I mean literally everything that walmart sells. There's the standard shoplifting shit (makeup, deodorant, laundry soap, and so on) down to actual 40+" televisions. I witnessed a dude jack a display model TV, just walked it out the door.

The food was the worst, people would go in there and just eat shit, throw the wrappers on the ground, and act like nothing ever happened. It was terrible when walmart got onto the trend of having grocery shit and produce. Literal fucking Mario Kart style banana peels were in the aisles for you to dodge.

The other thing that was consistently horrible was that there was seemingly more product on the floor than on the shelves. IDK if it was the employees or the shoppers, but shit didn't stay on shelves for long. It was like somebody set off an explosive device or the place went thru an earthquake.

it's true from the poorest people up to those with huge incomes. generally the only thing of value owned is the primary home, and all the free cashflow is spent on lifestyle, because why the fuck else do I bust my ass all day but to have a nice Audi I swap out every other year and steak on the dinner table.

It "is but it isn't". Most people I know who get that low of an amount are elderly SNAP beneficiaries who live alone and have other sources of income, like SSI, disability, or that sort of shit. Most people I know who get SNAP and don't have any income whatsoever get around $200 or so.

Real talk though: if you're buying staple foods and know how to cook, you can have a month of food for one person on around $50, and when it comes to it, food is excessively easy to get for free in america in general due to things like church charities and stuff, so there's really no reason anyone should ever be hungry unless they're buying expensive shit left and right.
