What is a good way to cook these fuckers that isnt just compounding the sweetness with more sweet?

French fries.

They taste almost the same as regular fries.

make them into mash
fry up some diced bacon, set aside
saute diced onion in the fat with some rosemary
mix everything together

alternatively use cilantro and lime juice or chorizo and orange juice. I know that sounds a bit wacky but you should try it

Old Bay is pretty good.

The long thin ones are really good for sticking up your ass, better than most vegetables.

If you don't want to accentuate the sweetness then just microwave it or boil. Try them with dry mint and a little powdered ginger to taste (it tastes surprisingly good with these)

i like to eat them with creole seasoning

microwave for a minute or two to remove excess moisture. Wash w cold water to help remove skin. Slice thin, fry in hot oil. Season w salt pepper paprika powder. A perfect side to flavorful meat dishes.

I usually only do it to white sweet potatoes, but pierce the skin, rub them in olive oil, salt, peppercorns, and some smoked paprika. Wrap them in foil and either grill them or bake them.

Butter works really well too. I also meant to add garlic powder to that list.

Roasted directly on coals and then eating the inside is the patrician way. Tastes good enough to where you don't have to add anything.

Please expound. Do I just wrap them in foil and toss them onto the coals while I'm grilling?

>> No.10617467

I like em with chilli spices: salt/paprika/cumin/red pepper

>> No.10617499

>>10617436
You're supposed to wait until the coals are turning to ash but still hot and then bury them in it. That's a little difficult to get right though and kind of a pain in the ass with all the ash. You can just wrap them up in foil and then cook them on a grill and then at the end unwrap them and char the skin a little. Gives them a really good roasted earthy flavor.

>> No.10617698

>>10614464
I just like to bake or steam them and season with salt and ground clove. Tastes like pumpkin pie but it's not disgustingly sweet. I don't understand how people can put marshmallows on them and eat them as a side dish then have pie for dessert after on Thanksgiving.

How can you be proud of the cheapest oil made?

>> No.10617925

Their sweetness really fits together with spicy. I like to make a sweet potato mash with lime and any chili's I have lying around.
Or you could make sweet potato boats.
>Wash potatoes
>Cook potatoes at 180 in oven for 30mins
>Make sure they're done
>Hollow them out
>put the potato mass, you acquired from hollowing out, in a bowl
>Add cream cheese/feta whatever, jalapenos, fryed spinach, any other vegetable and seasoning (i.e. cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, pepper
>Shredded mozzarella on top
>Put back in oven for 10min for cheese to melt
>Serve with cilantro and lime juice on top

Optimal: buttermilk sauce on top with 1 part buttermilk, 2 parts Joghurt and salt/pepper

>> No.10617926

>>10614464
Wrap in foil and bake in the oven. Doesn’t need anything else, tho salt and pepper are always welcome.
