All of the shitposting problems aside, I think it would actually be interesting. Food and Cuisine as a topic is often deeply rooted in cultural differences, which is why lots of meals are typed as "Italian" food, "Indian" food, "Thai" food, etc. I don't think flags are necessary for discussion like that, but I do think they could be an interesting addition, considering how ingrained nationality and culture are in the culinary arts.
