Critically underrated with the younger crowd and the basis of some of the best cocktails, gin is the go to alcohol for us. Let's get a thread going about brands of gin and gin cocktails recipes. If any of you have a choice brand for a good orange gin, please let me know.
Pic is a Tom Collins I made with homemade simple syrup and Uncle Val's gin.

Gordons gin with fevertree elderflower tonic water is the best combination I've come across

Gin might possibly be the worst form of ethanol consumption conceived by humanity.

Enjoy your inferior beverage mom.

I'm in my thirties and I hate gin, so I don't think it's a "younger crowd" thing. Unless it's in a Long Island, in which case you can't taste it, or if it's in a gin and tonic. I hate both gin and tonic water, but for some the reason the combination of both is magical.

Try a Tom Collins (Gin, club soda, lemon juice, simple syrup). Sweeter gin drinks are easier to get into than a martini.

Have you ever actually tasted tonic with quinine without any sweetener? It's god awful. The gin and tonic was invented by British soldiers to literally make the quinine tonic palatable

Sorry to hear about that anon. Too bad cuz I had a drink with thyme you might have liked called a winter sun. (Gin, aperol, blood orange juice, splash of soda water, thyme syrup if you want to. Thyme sprig garnish.)

I want to pick some of that up to give it a try so many but they don't carry it anywhere near me, REEEEEEEEE!

One of the nicer restaurants near me had a special cocktail using it for a little while which is what got me curious but now I can't buy any because VA's retarded ABC laws make it impossible to get anything new unless they just happen to decide to stock it one day.

I'm twenty and gin was my spirit of choice for getting hammered.

I'm a degenerate, so I'd usually mix it with cranberry juice. But I was predominantly using it as an affordable way of getting crunk desu

yes.
This is a relatively new trend, but it's putting a LOT of bars out of business. especially in places like Miami, NYC, San Francisco, Seattle etc
it's really taken off
