They're sweeter than most other nuts, and have a pleasing texture. Just the right balance of crunchy and tender. The asymmetry makes them take up more volume per unit mass and carries light seasonings such as salt with great efficiency, so each mouthful makes you want more as your jaws insatiably chomp through handful after handful.

I can't buy them anymore because I'll open a big container and go "just a little" and 10 minutes later it's empty and six hours later I have stomach cramps.

I only buy inferior nuts now. Dry roasted peanuts, toasted salted soybeans, and almonds. I don't lose control with those.

I swear this must be a genetic thing like how some people think cilantro tastes like chalk. I find cashews to be one of the worst nuts. To me they’re just bland and soft. I’d take a peanut over a cashew anytime.
