To make it real short: sugar = energy
So drinking and energy drink without sugar is utterly pointless. Sure, it's got caffeine and all kinds of other shit in it that might be beneficial or might kill you while giving you a boost, but if you don't have sugar to support those, it's useless.
But I guess Beetus-burgers have such a high sugar level all the time that they can simply use all the sugar that's flowing around in them anyways, so you might have a point.

Plus, all these "no sugar" crap is always so overtly sweet that it is literally undrinkable. If some 90% sugar stuff like coke is way less sweet than your sugarfree drink, something is terribly wrong.

I can see these things happening to children, but I drink coffee by the pot. Most of those things are related to caffeine and for me monster is practically mild. I drink it because it tastes great and the vitamins and whatnot give a bit of an extra boost along with my coffee. So I sip sips throughout the morning and early afternoon along with at least 6 cups of coffee/3 typical servings.

What can happen later is that your body might decide it's run out of magnesium and you begin to piss potassium.
