Some people are physicians on call, pilots, police, uhh, you know, people who don't need alcohol to spend time with friends or shouldn't because it would be a bad idea. Some people limit their alcohol intake because of liver-metabolized medications, blood sugar, arrhythmia or blood pressure reasons, or just to follow a low carb or training schedule reason. Some people find alcohol empty calories if they know they don't have the inclination to get tipsy and have 2 or 3 and then also wait to drive home. Some people are fighting an infection or virus. Some people are a little bit dehydrated and quite thirsty and might order something later after they catch up. Some people have a family history or personal history of abuse or addiction and just care about themselves more than the moment to get a drink on any given day or hour.

Some people are designated drivers and/or have the kinds of jobs if they EVER once get a dui they lose their licensing or position, thus ending their career(s).

WTF is your damage that you don't understand why someone doesn't need to be inebriated with you? Can you not enjoy yourself with someone agreeing to be in your company and share some laughs or chat or meal without also needing alcohol?
