Frosty's Donuts, Brunswick ME. The maple glazed, chocolate frosted, or chocolate ones are my top three picks.
I used to hate donuts and then I tried these and was converted. Still not much of a donut person...but I make an exception for Frosty's whenever I go back to Maine to visit my family.

In the recipe, it says you can use butter instead of shortening if you like. And one cake of yeast is equal to about 4 teaspoons dry yeast. I fried the donuts in peanut oil, but you can use the fat of your choice. Also, if you don't want to sugar coat them, but you want to glaze them, you can make a very thin vanilla glaze with powdered sugar, vanilla, and water or low fat milk.
