OP is right, but the thing is, you're pretty much consuming cruelty with every purchase made in the united states. in some way or another, a person or animal was hurt.
i don't think it's uncool to be a vegan; i am a vegan; but being preachy is always going to result in your looking like an asshole. you can't avoid consuming pain, trauma, horror, whatever, if you're literally buying anything in the US save for little co-ops or growing your own food.
