I need a new fucking pasta roller. My husband stole mine to use in his foundry for rolling hot wax and soft metals, and now it's too toxic for me to steal back. I may just get the pasta accessory for my Kitchen-Aid instead, so it takes up less counter space. My old one was an Atlas that's like your pic.

Amazon or any kitchen supply store. They even have them at Target, I think.
I used to work in a fancy pants kitchen store, and we sold all kinds and brands of salt, pepper, and spice grinders. Old Thompson aren't overpriced and are quite reliable, but if you don't mind paying a bit more for better quality, I always liked Peugeot. A set of 2 classic grinders from Peugeot will cost between $70 - $100 depending on the model. Old Thompson is between $30 -$80 depending on the model. Also, if you check stores like Homegoods, TJMaxx, and other discount housewares stores, you can sometimes find both those brands on sale.

Sure, it is technically redundant. But freshly ground pepper is used so often that it's not unreasonable to have a dedicted tool for it. Not to mention that a peppermill can be used at the table, whereas it's a bit impractical to use a mortar for that.

Does the enamel change the characteristics compared to just iron?

>> No.10405693

>>10405490
enamel doesn't rust, guaranteed to provide no irony taste (which I guess some people complain about but I've never noticed), and is fine for acidic foods (which people generally recommend against in cast iron, although is okay in moderation). On the flip side, the enamel can chip so it's less durable, and the enamel doesn't provide a non-stick coating the way that a well-seasoned cast iron does.
