I've only been seated at the bar once. I'm a pretty short guy and the chair was really low so I ended up having the plate at around nose-height when I was sitting.
Ended up sitting with my legs tugged under me like they do in Japan but it felt pretty undignified.
The rabbit stew was excellent, though.

The restaurant in my town is closed due to the owners having to keep the general store open because their mother who was the owner of the store died.
