Going to a local Japanese resturaunt for the first time and have no clue what to order. The reviews are pretty good for a small city, with people claiming the quality is on par with good Toronto resturaunts.

This. The menu looks like it's from a Korean run "Japanese" sushi shop because they're squeezing in Chinese and Thai food.

Try out the shrimp/assorted tempura and gyoza with some tuna, mackerel, salmon, snapper nigiri and tamago sashimi.

shrimp, eggplant, sweet potato and mushroom tempura

also, just so you know, this place is probably going to be shit. AYCE sushi is usually shitty anyway at the best of times, and they put fucking cake and ice cream in the "sushi, sashimi and handroll" section which indicates that they're retarded

was actually pretty good for what it was, nothing special but i'd go again. The tempura, curry beef, spicy tuna sushi, mackerel, baby beef mushroom roll and green tea ice cream were especially good. Spent like an hour and a half eating. I've been to better places, but for a small town im happy with it.
