Untrue. It was young and very regional where we actually had it, and bits of it managed to hang on in some places. You can't say there's no food culture in places like Louisiana, the Carolinas or even New England. And New York has restaurants that have been open since the 19th Century. The problem was being early adopters of industrialized agriculture right on the heels of the Depression and WWII. Supermarkets full of processed garbage seemed like a godsend to the folks who lived through that shit. And their kids. So did McDonald's.

>> No.10174681

Nobody makes decisions about where to eat in a vacuum; low wages, food deserts, agricultural subsidies, poor nutritional education, heavy advertising, driving out mom and pop restaurants that can't compete on the same price point, people being too exhausted to cook, all of these play a part in why fast food chains like McDonald's are successful. Think about it, in an ideal world where you're free to make any choice you want who would turn up a 3 star French restaurant for soggy reheated fries and mystery meat burgers?

Despite the fact that it is POSSIBLE to live on as little as 30K per year as a single in the US, you are currently required to have an internet connection and cell-phone for a job in almost all areas as well as at least an associates or 4 years in field. For at least 40K you need at least a bachelors or equivalence in the field; and often require several hundred dollar licenses and training courses yearly.

Families in America often require more than one vehicle and sometimes drive more than half and hour, to and from work. Often both spouses work, sometimes both going to college as part of their job or because their jobs are not secure. Insurance is not provided by most jobs so that costs a fucking fortune.

So yeah, America chinces out on food because we're getting fucked by CEOs that put waterfalls in their multiple offices while we collapse due to exhaustion.

Well little timmy. Trump's green light of the keystone line was to directly allow the US to export natrual gas to China.

This won't overturn the entire trade imbalance, but the deal is significant and should reverse billions of dollars outflow every year.

I'm liberal, but closing this trade imbalance is one thing I actually agree on with Trump. Every fucking day in Silicon Valley, I see the Chinese steal our IP... from switches and routers to software. I see our corporations like Cisco lose market share while Huawei dominates by selling copied Cisco switches at 1/2 the cost.

I feel like we are doing R&D & market development for the chinese and they turn around and steal our IP and undercut our prices without any consequence.

One of the biggest losses to American industry in the past 100 years is the total collapse and transfer of our Solar industry to the Chinese. Now we can't even turn a profit on cells because the Chinese will always sell it cheaper.

I see the same industry "theft & transition" happening with semiconductors today, and that is very scary if we lose that industry also.

Remember when Obama pimped Solyndra as the next great savior of American Solar?

And then Solyndra promptly went bankrupt a month after Obama made their grand opening speech?

And then the Entire US solar industry collapsed as the Chinese continue to flood the world with cheap, government subsidized panels? Well that strategy worked out perfectly as the worlds makers went bankrupt and China became the sole supplier left standing.

At least Trump has the balls to re-instate a tarrif on Chinese solar. Too little too late though....

I think Solyndra went down because of the China thing not before it, though I don't know the exact timeline. Still I imagine that was the point of China investing a fuckton into that industry, but from a consumer standpoint was it a good thing anyways? Are panels better or cheaper at least?

>> No.10178070

>>10178025
>Are panels better or cheaper at least?

No. Analysts have shown that US solar would have dropped to a comparable cost, had they let the industry develop.

And keep in mind that China had an active state level strategy to kill off global solar supply with subsidized, below cost panels. The strategy was not to keep the low prices, but to raise them again when global makers go bankrupt and China is left as the only major supplier.

Any new competition will get killed by subsidized panels below cost... which is why we desperately needed a Tarriff to even out the playing field.

And having chinese zero quality standards goods food the market is never good for any consumer... no matter how cheap the product may temporarily be priced.

Shit Nordic-cuisine seems to get a lot of flak everywhere but i dont see how something like say Indian is any better, in fact in my opinion it's a lot worse since at it's core it's just about hiding the taste of shit-quality meat&veggies under layers of spice-mixes or Mexican which seems to be cheese, beans and flatbread the cuisine.

The DNC'S lawyers LITERALLY argued in court last year, that the Democratic party's charter was simply a guideline, NOT legally binding, and the DNC suffered no obligation to consider the will of registered Democrats, and that they reserved the right by their elite members to choose whichever candidate they saw fit, in whichever manner they deemed necessary.
As well as bearing no onus to share the truth of such processes and decisions with their membership or the American people.

This is a result of lawsuits filed by Sanders campaign staff.

A lifelong democrat and DNC official released a book some months back.
Clearly stating that Hillary Clinton ' campaign staff were fuctionally running the DNC and making all major decisions since mid-2014.
The head of the DNC and others resigned at the convention when their emails were released, clearly showing open and popular collusion for HRC and against Sanders.
They also collude to take it easy on Trump in the hope he would get the nomination, as they deemed him the easiest republican candidate for Hillary to go head to head with.

There's a reason the Democrats only had 3 people run for the nomination.
O'mally ran because they had to at least make it look like it was a race, and that Democrats were being given a choice.

But there literally was no choice.

None of this is tin-foil conspiracy shit.

You can Google each point I made individually and find it.

We are so weak as a people, we did nothing about an outright scheme to rig the presidential election.

It's a simple understanding in modern America that we only get two people to choose from, because of the two-party stranglehold on our nation.
And one of those people was chosen in back room deals.
