What are some good coffee grinders? I use a french press.

Baratza Virtuoso Burr Coffee Grinder?

good depends on your budget. virtuoso would be perfectly fine for your use case. baratza stuff like the encore and virtuoso/preciso would be entry level for most things. you can spend more but that is getting into the prosumer territory. if you're looking for a step up then you may want to look at something with flat burrs

I don't know much about grinders. Just want a nice one that wont break. Was hoping for around $200 but if it's quality I can go higher up.

at the $200 price point you either go with the bartaza virtuoso (with preciso burrs) or you go with the breville smart grinder pro. imo baratza beats cheap breville crap anyday of the week

What would I be looking at spending if I wanted something you'd consider "best". Keep in mind I'm not grinding coffee all day here.

it's a rabbit hole. don't buy for "best" as you will easily be looking at 1k+ (or whatever)

Well you make the Virtuoso not sound that great.

it's great for $200. which is a fact. it's also a fact you can't compare entry level shit in the $200 price bracket with shit in the prosumer $1000 price bracket. that much should be fucking obvious.

It's not obvious. I know nothing about grinders.

You really can't expect a good recommendation without stating your absolute maximum budget. If it really is $200 give or take say $50 then you will have to go with the Virtuoso. Next step major up is literally 3.5x the cost (Bartaza Vario).

My baratza encore is pretty good for coarse/medium grind, idk if I'd trust it to do espresso grind. my only gripe is it makes a dang mess with coffee grounds so you gotta wipe them up frequently.

>> No.10133989

I use a $10 blade grinder and pulse grind.

Don't buy any of that breville shit, they're just as bad as hamilton beach or cuisinart.
They also make shitty toaster ovens and unitaskers, and then they turn around and sell coffee equipment at high end prices.
It's all trashy walmart appliance shit made in china.

Not even a decent beginner grinder. It's garbage.
