I eat there all the time and I've never had a membership.

It's all because of a law in my state that says you can't sell alcohol in a club or some bullshit. So when you walk inside you just tell the granny at the entrance that you're there to buy alcohol. Then you can just head straight for the food court and enjoy dem hawt dawgs.

We actually make next to NOTHING with the entirety of the foodcourt. We literally only keep it going to serve people a snack and give people jobs. We might break even, at best. But we still treat the department with a high level of effeceincy. Even with the low cost and high output of pizzas, the dept. doesnt bring shit in as far as income.
But we make our money other ways.

One thing members dont realize is that a lot of programs they can take advantage of arent some scheme for us to make money off of them...we literally lose money to provide oppurtunities to people that will take them. Fortunately most people will say "NO!" And throw a fit to anything we try to offer. So smart people looking to save money on, say, high grade electronics, travel plans, automotive, insurance, fucking 1000 other things people dont know we do can find offers no one else has. Costco is fucking crazy with oppurtunities if you know what to look for, and who to ask, and how to ask for it...

Also it helps if your warehouse isnt run by a bunch of lazy senior faggots from the Price Club days... or god forbid, union managers. They dont have to-nor will they- ever do shit even if you can pry them out of the office at gunpoint.

It is but the original CEO Jim wont let that change. We actually broke a deal with Coke because they wanted to raise the price and Costco said fuck you.

The chicken in the bakes is what filters through the the chicken salads, and is what is leftover once we use the "presentable" chicken. Sometimes youre going to get some gristle but generally its high quality to begin with. Plus theyre handmade for fucking hours the morning we put them out. Hated those.

Yeah, if they arent some shithead warehouse that wont let you inside to eat without a membership. Some places have the foodcourt inside. And SOME places wont let anyone inside to eat unless theyre members (which is not our policy). Depends on the manager and how much of a tightass he is. Usually employees wont give a fuck because we dont care about someone wanting to simply eat some food. We have other problems.

I understand intellectually how Costco works, the membership fee and the volume allows them to leverage good prices from manufacturers, and that they make their own products (like Kirklands) if they can't get a good price.

Costco sells the hotdog combo and rotisserie chicken at a loss. This has been reported numerous times.

They do it as a marketing ploy because it's a draw to get people to spend time in Costco. They believe whatever money they are losing is more than paid for with people returning to pick up a snack and then a few more items they wouldn't normally need.
