Liquorstore fag here, honestly don't waste your time. We've gotten like 5x less allocated bourbon since the pandemic started and the demand for rare whiskies in December is so high that most stores are probably just going to save their rare/expensive stuff for regular customers, most stores have begun doing that anyways. Fucking bourbonfags will be lined up at opening if they even suspect the store has gotten a bottle of Blanton's in, shit's ridiculous and not worth the time. If any stores near you do a Maker's Mark Store Pick, I'd recommend getting that, it's a very unique gift that's usually accessible and won't break your wallet, and depending on the barrel combo it has the potential to be better than Blanton's.
