I can't stand alcohol in general but strangely enjoy some cocktails, even ones made exclusively of spirits, like boulevardiers.

For me it's a Negroni. The perfect drink. Yes I know it's technically three different alcohols mixed together, but god damn do they form something fine.

So I'm making a board game about cocktail mixing and I'm a big ol' dumb dumb smooth brain who knows like 5 cocktails. Are there any fundamentals to mixing with different kinds of liquor, specifically Whisky, Rum, Vodka, Gin, and Tequila? I get that's probably a loaded question since you can mix anything with anything as long as it tastes good, but what kinds of patterns exist in mixology? What are different liquors good/bad at?

Mine is a Negroni based on Sloe Gin. The Sloe plums give it a more round, fruity taste which I really enjoy.

Alcohol is delicious.

I don't even care about getting drunk, just making a negroni or old fashioned after getting back from work and sippin it while relaxing is god tier.
