These are the cheapest San Marzanos you can get. They're just as good as the more expensive DOP ones. Just make sure it says on the can that they're from Italy. Because they also sell some that aren't Italian, and they're much worse.

Just use canned San Marzano tomatoes and add some olive oil and basil/oregano. It doesn't have to be fancy.

These are cheap and just as good as the DOP ones.

Not if you're doing it right, hon.

It takes 4 cans of these bad boys for mine, and they run about $3/can.

San Marzanos are not cheap at all.

These are like $3 for a 28oz can. The DOP ones are even more expensive.

Not really a secret at this point...

Local Kroger was selling these for $2 a can so I loaded up.

I get these and crush them with my hands, then add olive oil, S&P, sugar, and oregano, then simmer them for a while to reduce the liquid.

I guess you could drain the liquid instead if you prefer a fresher tasting sauce, but I like it to have a bit of that rich cooked flavor.
