Apparently, franchisees lost money on this thing and it was around when LJS was getting hammered for trans-fats. I've been trying for years to replicate it but can't get their crunchy batter gravel quite right.

Also, weird wraps were huge in the 90's so I don't doubt what you got from Taco Bell. Wraps were kind of a meme. Most of them were shit but the Long John Silvers wrap was hands down the best thing I've ever gotten from a fast food establishment. This thing was unreal how good it was. It perfectly nails taste and texture thanks to using an extra creamy mayo sauce in place of cheese and then rice and fried meats PLUS those little crunchy gravel bits they use at LJS.

I post about these shits all the time but I've yet to encounter anyone else who remembers them. They were incredibly good though.
