I brought one of these from the zipperhead market. The lady said cook it for 20 minutes and just eat it with salt.

I don't know what the fuck I was thinking. It literally looked just like pic related. There's nothing special about it, there's no trick. It's literally just a developing duck embryo. It has eyeballs, feathers, claws, a beak. It has internal organs - heart, lungs, bones, intestines. All it's skin and feathers peel off in a single 'suit'.

I figured I had come this far and to not waste it (it was 5 dollars for 1 egg), so I ripped an entire leg/foot/claw quarter off and ate it. It tasted just like duck meat, except completely full of bones that are just soft enough to eat. I tried to get my niece to eat some, but she could only put it in his mouth and spit it out straight away.

I don't get it. Why is this seen as food?
