Fucking retard. The AR-15 wasn't designed for target shooting any more than the M1 Garand was. The low recoil was part of the design parameters for a new US infantry rifle. The cartridges were specifically designed with human targets in mind. Later, when the market was flooded with them (much as the market was flooded with surplus Garands after the last big war), civilians noticed what the military knew all along.

It's amazing how delusional /k/ is about gun facts. I grew up in a red state and despite being surrounded by rednecks, I never knew such stupid people existed in real life until I spent some time on /k/. No wonder liberals look down on conservatives so badly. Seems all the smart ones stay off the internet.
