>feel like shit for at least 3-4 days
>say I'm never going to drink again
>start feeling good again after about a week
>"what's one drink going to hurt?"
>repeat cycle

>tfw 3 day bender coming to an end

man, work tomorrow is going to be a shaky mess

>friday rolls around
>say I'll buy a handle and drink friday and saturday, then sober up sunday
>sunday rolls around, 3 or so shots left in the handle
>say I'll take them to just taper
>take the 3 shots and start feeling it
>say fuck it and go to the liquor store to buy more
>repeat

And here I am now lads, monday is going to suck

It's amazing how alcoholism can turn you into such an amazing liar. I was always a terrible liar and it was really obvious when I was lying. Now, my friends and family all believe I'm one year sober when really I lasted 4.5 months and went back to drinking, just hid it way better. Feels shitty when they're all so happy for me, and I lie and say I'm doing amazing
