what is the single most essential cooking ingredients or utensils you believe in? for me, above all else, you just have to have a pepper mill and salt grinder with whole peppercorns and decent salt. there just literally is no reason to use the pre ground shit. especially the pepper, completely fucking different results.

besides extra virgin olive oil and a single chefs knife, it may be the only things im willing to shell out top dollar for to get the best of the best.
