but why refrigerate if the recipe is from the 1700s?

I have some turkey legs, the sell by was the 16th, its now the 18th, and they have a slight funk when you smell them

still good to eat you think?
it's a lot of meat, would be a shame to waste it

if french food is supposedly the best, why doesn't anybody eat it regularly?

I can get tacos and mexican platters, pizza and pasta and italian sandwiches, all manner of asian foods, plus the american classics
even russians are well represented with delis and stuff

nobody likes french food otherwise there would be more fast casual french options. Nobody wants to eat it, that's why french restaurants are so few and far between yet there's a pizzeria and chinese take out on every corner

a fancy pants steak house opened in my town, but It closed down within 9 months and I never tried it
I know it wasn't a demographic problem because 115k a year is the low end income here. Those animals live north of the train tracks while we civilized people in the 250+ range live on the beach front to the south

anyway. The steakhouse closed and two weeks later reopened as an italian restaurant with a new name, but the same chef and owners.

I wonder how terrible it is

PS. My family is poor as shit and only live here because my grandpa bought the house decades ago before the money moved in
