did a side by side comparison of the Curiositas and 6 Isles, big difference! 6 Isles is more flat in the nose overall where as the Benriach is full and creamy, although my bottle has been open since late November last year and mostly air since about April/May. I'd say most of the peat has wafted off, at least for the nose, still recognizable on the taste albeit more subtle than it had been.

I did end up doing an in glass blend of my 14 yr old Knob Creek SB, Glengoyne 10 and the 6 Isles. About 3-4 parts Glengoyne to 1 parts each of the others. It was quite nice if I do say so myself, so I went ahead and used the last bit of Glengoyne in the decanter and added the same amounts and let it sit for a couple days with few drops of water to dilute some of the 120 proof bourbon. The Knob Creek does stand at the front, but with the dry/fruity sherry in toe and ends with peat smoke and oak tannins, maybe even some chocolate and oranges. The nose is really big and complex. the taste is very steadfast in its transitions with a long finish of subtle spices like cinnamon, clove and anise.
