Masa harina is used to thicken chile and adds some flavor. Be careful where you buy it from, because I've bought a couple from shitty hippy places that have worms in them, it needs to be checked out. Apparently hippies are too freaked out and stoned to care what they eat.

Masa harina is great for a thickener if for chile and stews, just make sure to make a slurry of it first so it doesn't clump up.
I've bought Masa Harina many times but once there were worms in it so be sure to check it out.
