Not sure if I should make another thread but this seems related.

Situation: My son in law came over with my daughter last week and he apparently found out I like a good dram. I have no idea what got into his head but he gave me pic related. Now, I love my whisky (note that's not "whiskey") but he obviously doesn't drink or else he'd know better. My shelves are lined with the good stuff - Lagavulin 12, Laphroaig Cask Strength, and Ardbeg. I keep a bottle of Talisker around for when there's a pleb visiting.

Needless to say, I cannot have this in my cabinet. It's a blend, made by Johnnie Walker of all things, and you can undoubtedly calculate how many bottles of Ardbeg he could have gotten me instead. I smiled and shook his hand but I later instructed my daughter (in writing) to make sure this never happens again.

Anyway, obviously I have to do something. They're coming again to visit next weekend and the bottle needs to have some missing when they get here. I could pour some out but the ancient artisans who lovingly crafted this rare spirit will be spinning in their graves if I did that.

So, what mixes well with Blue Label? I only ever drink single malts neat from a Glencairn glass, or at most with a tiny splash of Speyside Glenlivet bottled water to bring out the nuances. I do *not* want the nuances. I was thinking of getting some Drambuie to mix in, but that's disgustingly sweet. Any less discerning gentlemen out there who could recommend something? Perhaps a good bottle of tonic water?
