I mean, if you want to get even more antsy about it, what about how most places typically separate wings into flats and drumettes and count eat piece as a "wing"? It's a clucking travesty how "chicken wings" rarely refers to a full 3-piece wing anymore.

Learn how to butcher and use a whole chicken from the supermarket.
>level 0: roast it whole
>level 1: butterfly it for roasting
>level 2: separate it into breast/thigh/drumstick/wing/carcass
>level 3: make your own stock with the bones
>level 4: start from a freshly slaughtered chicken
>level 5: slaughter it yourself
