I've known this all along, but I wash my rice anyway for the exact reasons specified in the video.

I hate rice that's too sticky or clumpy, and I like them a little more separated. If I'm lazy as fuck, then yeah, I'll just put the rice into the cooker without washing it, but for the most part, it only takes 2 or 3 minutes, and it'll keep the rice from getting too sticky.

Plus, if you wash your rice, you can later use it for fried rice after leaving it in the fridge overnight. Washing away all the excess starch keeps the rice from clumping so that your fried rice will have loose, easily tossable grains while you're frying it.
