I spent a week in south Korea without having much experience at all with Korean food.
It was excellent.

I was on a train to Busan and trying to figure out my next step. Managed to find a well regarded Samgyetang restaurant, which I hadn't heard of (didn't know much about Korean food, obviously).
Not only was it easy to get too, it was also early enough that nobody else had arrived.
I got to enjoy a wonderful meal that was a new experience in a peaceful setting.
As I was finishing people began coming in. Great timing.

I knew very little about Korean food before I spent a week there. Everything I had was wonderful.

Samgyetang, soup with a whole young chicken - filled with garlic, rice, jujube, and ginseng

Samgeytang was something I had never heard of until I went to South Korea. It's really very good.

I went to South Korea not knowing anything beyond kimchi. Korean food is petty good.
