I've been living in Japan for 20 years and I've come to the conclusion that Americans/westerners in general are WRONG ABOUT LITERALLY EVERYTHING when it comes to food and health.

>omg you eat butter, drink whole milk, eat natural rich fatty ice cream? saturated fats are LE BAD!
>omg you eat RICE? carbs are LE BAD!
>omg you eat FRIED FOODS???? deep frying and trans fats are LEEE BAAAAD!!
>omg you eat cakes and sweets? REEE DON'T YOU KNOW SUGAR IS LE POISON!!!

My family here, and really everyone in this country is skinny as fuck and we do not eat nothing but "fish" every day. My 90 year old grandmother in law eats fried chicken every day. We all eat rice every day. We ALL drink beer or wine or nihonshu (sake) or shochu every day. We eat ramen loaded with sodium and (GASP!) MSG. Nobody is getting diabetes. Nobody is getting cancer from "trans fats". Nobody is getting fat. Yet I constantly see Americans driving themselves into total panics obsessing over what's "healthy food" and what's "unhealthy food". TWENTY YEARS I've been watching this and it is my God's honest truth UNDENIABLE conclusion that you're wrong about everything and that the most likely cause of the West is killing itself is stress, not what foods they put in their body. The human body is an incredibly adaptive machine that can survive on damn near any fuel you throw into it. There's something else killing you all, and it's either simply the quantity you landwhales eat, your total lack of mobility, or else just the stress and psychic damage you cause yourselves being anxious and afraid of everything all the time.

I will not address any contrary responses to this post. 20 years of closely monitoring 2 cultures outweighs any anon deigning to convince me otherwise with their "uh akshually" nutrition "facts".
