It really is. I was skeptical when my dad told me about it but it was just awesome. I'm not sure if it would work with any other brand, unless you could find another one with these weird french-fry-like qualities. I mean I wouldn't bother trying it with Lay's or anything.

Pic related. If you look closely you can see the shine of the oil. I guess one problem would be if you wanted to do a big batch of these at once; I'm not sure how you could do that in the microwave without burning the chips. These got a little roasted as you can see but that part tasted great too.
