Japanese instant noodles are the worst instant noodles, generally. It might be because that's where they were invented. That, plus a conservative culture, so they never really developed beyond the basic, original style. Regardless, they're shit, plain and simple, and people only go for them because they watched an anime and so they naturally gravitate towards the Japanese brand.

Indonesian and Thai instant noodles are pretty good because they have extra seasoning. But the real king is China. Their instant noodles have multiple seasoning packets and, beyond that, they just have more flavour generally. I guess it's because they give less of a fuck the health risks of adding huge amounts of chemicals or what have you, but you can't argue with the taste.
