>finally decide to git gud at espresso/espresso-based drinks
>spend the last week or so learning and getting locally roasted beans, better grinder, etc (still have a shit machine)
>get it mostly dialed in (as far as my palate can discern)
>go back to "good" coffee shop near me and get an espresso
>sour, underextracted mess for $4
>reviews are all praising the quality
>random empanada shop I stopped at is better
is it really that easy to surpass cafes or am I somehow delusional? can people not tell at all?
