It's just a fad like the george forman grills. I made the mistake of buying one of those and since then I ignore any of this shit when it gets hyped and starts showing up everywhere.

who's behind it? it's called marketing. all you have to do is find or pay some asshole to post about like on some piece of shit image board and people are all "oh the new cool thing I have to have" then "oh it's just a tiny little convection oven and is not good for anything bigger than small meals".

In 6 months the shelves at goodwill will be filled with them, just like instant pots are now, and bread machines were several years ago.
