>We recently learned that they communicate through fungus you moron.
That's "communicating" in the sense a thermostat communicates with the room temperature or a pendulum communicates with gravity.
Plants don't have brains. They can send "messages" and so can many other non-sentient deterministic systems.

It doesn't have a fucking brain. It's like a worm. Do you step on ants? Same thing. The actual answer is to stick a spike through it behind the eyes, if you actually do it right it kills it instantly, basically how we slaughter pig and cattle. You do this because it's very easy, and way simpler than trying to determine whether or not lobsters do or do not feel pain, where or not nerve responses can be considered "feeling pain", or what level of sophistication is required to be self-aware, and finally if something is not self-aware, if it matters at all. Thus bringing us to the conclusion, it is morally acceptable to throw NPCs into pots of boiling water.
