I want to make pizza sauce. I hear using a raw sauce is best. Is it really just crushed tomatoes, olive oil, salt, pepper, and basil? Or is someone fucking with me?

I live on the gulf coast so the chi-york pizza dick swinging is lost on me, I like both the deep dish and the typical nyc thin crust.
That pizza looks delicious though, it reminds me of the pizzas a friend of mine's mom used to make. She was Sicilian. She made great pizzas, I never saw a pizza like hers until now.
I made pizza for the first time earlier this year. This is the first one I made. I know it looks pretty lame, but it tasted good. I even made the sauce from scratch!

1. nyc style large slice cheese pizza with light sauce
2. neapolitan margherita pizza
2. nyc style large slice with light sauce, real italian sausage, and red onion pizza
3. chicago pizza stuffed with pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions.
4. Thin crust "Thai" style pizza
5. barbeque beef pizza with light sauce and cheddar cheese

it is really cheesy. I can't tell about the rest because the cheese covers up almost the entire pizza. What I can see of the crust it looks ok, maybe a few more minutes in the oven to make it darker and crispier. The cheese looks like it may be part skim shredded mozzarella so sometimes that can be a little rubbery.
