In this country, terrible/fake/borderline poisonous food is "normal" by tacit agreement, substandard food is "premium", and barely acceptable food is "craft".

Really? I seem to recall "my people" building your railroads while you were dirt farming in the midwest because you were too stupid and weak to make it across the mountains. Meanwhile my actual people (meaning my direct ancestors) were still on the other side of the ocean, building trade networks and spreading knowledge.

My family only came over because of graduate study, something I'm pretty sure your kind would know nothing about. We were doing quite well back home. Some of them left right away to get postgrad degrees in europe, others went back home immediately because it was better there, and some stuck around because they thought it was kind of nice.

But keep on thinking you're special, smelly dirty white people. It will give you comfort as you wallow in self pity watching your momentary prosperity comes to an end, predictably.
