Whiskey/whisky out of the bottle tastes more like an industrial chemical to me.

But a jigger of whiskey and a splash of water is completely difference. Instead of an industrial chemical, you have something that is often quite enjoyable to drink. You can pick up flavors in the whiskey that are pretty much undetectable without the water.

Over the years, I've drank a number of different whiskies and have some preference for Irish Whiskey. Currently I've been drinking Jameson's when I drink whiskey (I don't drink alcohol very often).

I'd like to get some Paddy's Irish Whiskey but none of the liquor stores in my area sell it.
