Thumb, index and middle like a pencil. The bottom one is pressed against the bottom of your index finger and the side of your fourth finger by the bottom of your thumb.

Put one in the crook of your thumb and forefinger, hold it by pressing your thumb in and your ring finger against it further down. This one stays still. Hold the other one using your thumb and first two fingers, this one moves.

They're honestly the best utensil for cooking some things, they do everything tongs do and they're much finer.

Lock the bottom one in so it stays still, leaving your thumb and first two fingers free to move the top one about like a pen. You shouldn't have to really clench the bottom one, it's more like it rests on the base of your first finger and the tip of your fourth, with the base of your thumb pressing between those two points to keep it stable.

Get a couple bowls and practice moving peanuts back and forth. You might cramp up if you're really not used to them, but you'll figure out a more relaxed grip soon enough.
