To prevent rust boil water until you get a nice thick protective layer of lime scale or dry out your kettle thoroughly after every use (you can use heat to help dry it). Getting some iron leaching is normal and intended however.

Bitterness and astringency. Some young sheng has quite a strong bite to it when young, over time with age sheng will mellow out somewhat. Both young and aged puerh can be good.

Has anyone here tried 2013 Xiaguan Love Forever cake? Picrel I recently bought a cake from LP. He had some of the much cheaper "bamboo tong" version ins stock. The "paper tong" batch is considered more desirable but cost more than twice as much. Supposedly both cakes include some 2003 lao ban zhang in the blend. The name "love forever" is a pun based of the Chinese pronunciation of 2013 and the fact the cake is made with old tea.
