every time i make pasta with tomato sauce it tastes like shit

i honestly dont know what im doing wrong. i cook my meat, throw a jar of sauce in the pan - all while cooking the pasta in a pot with boiling water, later draining and mixing the pasta into the sauce.

I'm on benefits so i can't be affording to throw food away, but the last pasta i made i tossed because it tasted so shit, yet when i make a homemade burger, sausage meal, steak or anything that doesn't use sauce, its always perfect and tastes like its edible.

Alright, so I'm in a bit of a pickle. I've got basically a bunch of random crap around my house and a box of spaghetti. I need advice on how to make a decent sauce with random shit I'll probably find.

Keep it basic, no tomato sauce.

These guys are so pretentious and insecure that the highest they'll give a jarred marinara sauce is 7.1/10.

How long does tomato sauce stay in the fridge after being opened? I'm seeing like 7 days max on the internet but I'm thinking they're kind of lowballing it. I've already had it in the fridge for like 10 days and I haven't gotten sick yet.
