The strangest thing to me is the fact that no one outside of the US can seem to get a burger right, because they always feel the need to overcomplicate it and overdo it so it's recognizably American and therefore exotic. When the truth is a typical burg is 3, maybe 4 ingredients; ground beef chuck, salt and pepper, maybe flour to bind it together and help the outside stay crispy on the grill like one from a fast food joint. They add breadcrumbs and crack an egg in there like my boomer dad used to do and make essentially a salisbury steak or a meatloaf on a bun. It's the damnedest thing.

Why

No one outside of the US can get a burger right, it's the damnedest thing. They always overcomplicate it for no good reason.
