Yeah, I'm American. I love our dysfunctional food culture. It's so easy to make fun of, but there's so much variety that I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. It also helps that I've lived/ visited a large amount of cities around the country so I've got a decent grasp on the good and bad. I'm convinced that self-hating Americans who say our food sucks as a whole either haven't traveled their own country enough or are too cynical and jaded to be pleased with what they have available. Grass-is-greener syndrome or whatever.
