i used to arrive at my high school early (like 6am) because my mom was a nurse and i hated taking the bus
i got to know the lunch ladies pretty well, and on fridays they'd do a potluck before they started work and let me join them
some of them were actually really good cooks, i miss those friday mornings

i'd take rectangular pizza over that any day
that said, my county cheaped out a lot during high school. quality of burgers plummeted (not that they were great to begin with) and i'd rather eat mcd's with no toppings than those things again
our cookies also went to shit. got halved and they started always being brittle
