>preheat oven to 400F
>wash potato
>dry the potato with a paper towel
>stab with fork a few times
>coat in oil
>kosher salt first, black pepper second, garlic powder third, use plenty of salt and garlic powder (or a mix of salt garlic powder pepper 4:2:1)
>space them out on a rack above a pan so hot air can circulate under the potato
>1 hour 10 minutes
>flip once at 45 minutes left and then again at 20 minutes left so the seasonings won't burn
>serve immediately, add any extra toppings
Normally a baked potato is a single meal for me, but I will add extra stuff like pic related. 95% of the time I don't have bacon with it, but I did for these two pics just by chance and I think it looks extra snazzy with chives and bacon. I always eat the skins and I like them crispy, so it's usually more effort than people like to do but not really that much and it's totally worth it. I wish someone would test it out and see if they get the same results or if I could improve anything.
