Take some root veg, peel, dice, and roast with some oil and salt. You'll know they're ready when a knife slides easily in and out

remove each veg as they cook, and reheat them before eating with some herbs like thyme, lavender, sage, and marjoram

Cook the rice by washing till the water runs clear, then adding a part and a half of water to rice of fresh water, salting and bringing to a boil, before covering and simmering for a few minutes, then leave to steam out (takes up to ten mins)

thinly slice some leaves as a garnish
