From my understanding, the only manner in which these schools are really useful is for making connections in the industry. You will learn the basics, but textbook knowledge doesnt mean all that much in an active kitchen. If you have decent knife skills, odds are you can get a job as a line chef just about anywhere and work your way up. And its not like you would be landing swanky high paying cooking jobs (lolnosuchthing), youd be starting at the bottom just like the people off the street.
