Newcastle upon Tyne here. This is Newcastle Brown Ale, which I have found in the US. Also know as 'Broon' (dialect) or 'Dog', as in the husband says to the wife 'I'm just taking the dog for a walk' when he means he's going to the pub for a quick one or two.
Always served in the type of glass in the pic, known as a a schooner (not a type of sailing vessel).
Very similar to Samuel Adams, the nicest beer I found in the US.
