I just hunt mine on private property. I met a nice couple who have rabbits running around ruining their land and so they let me take them out.

The problem with their property is that it is very difficult to hunt on. The grassy areas are very long, and the areas with no grass is thick bush/forest.

I don't know much about diseases in rabbits. I eat them if they look healthy (bright eyes, clean fur, clear vent) and their organs look normal. Occasionally i find a liver with weird white rice-looking things embedded within it, not sure what that is about, but i havent gotten sick (from the flesh, not the liver) so i suppose that was alright.
